Default custom turbo setup???

Has anyone did there own custom turbo setup on the 2.7t a6 or s4.

I plan on making my own custom kit with twin dsm 14b's which spool almost as quick as the gt25r's and flow 31bs. On dsm's a 14b will make about 250awhp around 18psi and 300awhp around 21psi. So i'm sure i'd be able to reach the limits of the stock block under 20psi (500whp).

I plan on using either the obx or stock manifolds and welding the dsm flanges on and then welding the flanges on the stock dp's and runing a 02 dump to eliminate boost creep or either run the ssac dp's with the internal wastegate routed back into the dp's. I wounder how much room is it between the fender wall and manifolds and then how much room is it between the dp's and tranny?

I'd use the same software for gt25's with the 630cc injectors and a walbro 255. I know i'd need either the rs4 maf or 85mm maf housing and bi pipe.

I'd have to custom make intake and intercooler piping and run a ebay fmic. also custom oil and coolant lines.

I know its more stuff that I'm missing so would you tell me. I have alotta experience with turbo cars. 12sec 1g dsm age16-18 and 11sec 2g dsm age18-22 so I know what I'm doing in terms of mods and tuning. Anyone think this is possible and by know way would this be a hack job, I'd get all welds professionaly done on the manifolds and intercooler piping. I would just get the gt25r kit but i'm still in college for 2 more years and cant afford it and if i could i would just get a e55 instead.

Under 20lbs and reach a true 500whp, im sorry but it will never happen and wont happen at 26lbs or even 30lbs.. You cant look at what they make on a dsm and compare that to your car. There rated at chp not whp, and good luck with the obx manifold. The GT2554s are far more efficient and will yield more power regardless the smaller comp wheel and they have no chance to make that power at 20lbs and is hard pressed to do it on gt2860s in a full gt kit...

Yea I was talking about awhp. The 14b flow (31lb/m) which is 2lb less than the gt2860 at (33lb/m) gt25s only flow (25lb/m)and 14b spooltime is almost the same. So if people are making 500whp on gt25's which flow alot less than the 14b's and 600+awhp gt28's which flow almost the same then why wouldn't i be able to reach 450-500awhp at low boost levels??

What i want to know is how tight is the space between the manifolds and fender walls and how much space is it between the dps and transmission so i can see if i can mount the turbo's. Would the 630cc injectors be enough. What other things would i need.

I'll probably just modify the stock manifolds since the obx ones are known to crack.

Your way off, u cant go by just the lbs on the comp wheel, theres far more to it then that. Gt25ss are 27lbers and have a far more efficient turbine side and larger, 2 14b turbos arent even in the same ballpark as a pair of gt2860ss the turbine side is were it's at, Good luck with the stockers or the obx ones because either won't work.... P.S I would take a pair of gt25ss against the 14b any day

Before attempting to jump to conclusions on a turbo setup for your car, I would take a read through this.

Lots of great info.
