Just noticed today that once in awhile when the car is hot my heads up display lights fade. At night when its cool it works great, during the day in the heat some parts are faded and sometimes the date and time will blink on occasion. Does anybody know what causes this? bad wiring or what.

 

It's very common, soon it will start to have lines, then you will not be able to read it. It's just a poor design, & a $800 fix for a brand new cluster.

 

Yeah, on it's way out. I've got the same thing.

 

same here... mine worked fine, then it started fading like yours, and now certain lines are dying. When it gets to the point I cant decypher what its trying to tell me Im just going to turn it off.

 

when looking for a car to buy, every single car I saw had issues with the display except for one person whom had replaced it, and luckly I got mine replaced with the extended warrenty from the previous owner...
