Default How Fast is a chipped 2004 S4???

I just picked up a 2004 S4. Its awesome and I hit 150mph in a heartbeat. The electronic speed limiter is set at 155mph. Does anyone know how fast this car will go with a chip? And who makes the best most reliable chip?

GIAC performance software for the 2003 - 2005 B6 S4 4.2L smoothly delivers a 15-23 hp and 15-28 ft-lbs gain. For optimum power gains the software must be coupled with a cold air intake. GIAC Chip for B6 S4

APR chips add about 12HP. APR Chip for B6 S4

NEUSPEED P-Chip - Audi S4 4.2L V8 seeing gains of 5-6HP at the wheels between 6500-7000rpm, and torque gains of approximately 6 ft-lbs at 3500rpm. NEUSPEED Chip for B6 S4

Hope these help bro!

I would treat those numbers all with a grain or two of salt. There was a dyno shootout over on Audiworld, and real world numbers for chips were under the numbers claimed by the chip makers.

Also there is some debate on if there really is an electronic limit at 155mph. I have seen claims of 167mph in a b6 s4 with no chip, guy claims he was about 800rpm below redline at the time.

Yah, you wont see much gains with a chip on the v8 s4s.

Thanks for the info! And by the way I took it up to 156mph and there was no sign of any speed limiter. Has anyone driven faster than that in an unchipped B6 S4? Is it worth putting exhaust in?. And what about horsepower and torque gains?

There are more than a few existing threads on performance gains due to exhaust.

I have a milltek fullback exhaust. Milltek claims somewhere around 15-20hp gains. There is an article at audiworld on a b6s4 shootout, I think 4 or 5 different b6s4s with different mods on a dyno. Pretty interesting stuff.

Althought Audi claims that there is an electronic limiter on the top speed...there are reports from other owners that the limiter does not exist. There is a guy on audiworld or audizine that claims he was up to 167mph and was still 800rpm below redline.

thinking about the milltek exhaust...resonated or non-resonated. Also, anyone in the CT/NYC area to install??? DO you notice a difference with the exhaust. i was thinking abuot the exhaust along with the inflow but not the chip////
I hit 150 once just to see. Just for a few seconds, but showed no sign of slowing down

Thanks

Exhaust makes a HUGE difference in torque and horsepower, if it also has downpipes.
