Key fob stuck in ignition
2007 S6 -tried tostart the car usingswitchblade fob - no luck - all electrical off and key is stuck in ignition. Cannot access manual (glove box electrical). Car is less than a year old. Any ideas/suggestions?
didja try wiggling the steering wheel left & right? is it stuck in the accessory position? Or, stuck, stuck in the "in" but not turned on, position?
Yes I did - the wheel can move and the ignition moves from the off to the on position (without anything happening), but the key will not come out. It's other functions are shut down as well (open trunk). I tried my back up fob, same thing (can't open trunk for example). Cannot get the transmission out park; car is basically shut down.
OK, that eliminates the DUH stuff...
sounds to me like your ignition cylinder has broken. I am told there are some plastic parts inside that have been know to break.
PM auditech79 and ask him for the diagrams to disassemble the steering column, and a wish for luck.
or
find a locksmith that specalizes in cars, and prepare to be raped
or
have it towed to the nearest stealership and have them repair it for you, and prepare to be raped with an ever bigger repair bill
