Looking to Buy B5 S4
Ok so here's a question for everyone. Since the repairs on the S4 seem like they will be real expensive for everything done to it I'm thinking about an A4. Hows the performance on say a B5 2.8 or the 1.8. Then the B6 1.8 or 3.0. Of those other options which one performs closely to the S4. I know it isn't going to be the exact same but Im still looking at getting an Audi.
I just think that the repair costs on an S4 are gonna end up being tough on a college kid. Let me know what you all think of the idea of getting an A4.

Its not that its a huge deal on the money side. Its just I dont want to end up spending $16000 then have to put another $5000 into it then all service from then on will be real expensive. With the A4 I feel that I have a car with less than 50k and the car in general is under much less stress/strain. I understand that Audi parts/service is more expensive than the pickup but you also have a much nicer car.
I'm thinking that an A4 chipped and exhaust will still bea quick car or am I thinking wrong?

I found out that a2001 S4with auto that generally has a 10,000 to 11,000 MMR at the auctions (basically what they generally sell for at auctions). So you got to figure that the place in Manassas has wiggle room. Tell them to cover half the cost of the repair and ask for 13,500 and see what they say. If they tell you to get out, then leave... and start looking for another car.
In regards to your fast comment, fast is all relative. I drove the silver auto that you are looking at and thought it felt slower than my Jeep SRT-8, and most certainly slower than the Corvette... but the potential is there.
