Ahh the radar detector. Sure is nice. I've already got a Passport 8500 that works really nice. Saved me in the pickup, can't imagine how much it will save in an S4...[sm=tongue.gif]

hey how far out do your radars pick up the cops? mine seems like only about 100 yards but that seems like its only against the stationary ones that the cops put up. I have been too busy tryin to stop fast when i have gotten cops radar on it.

Forgot to put this in the last post but it is illegal in Virginia and DC to have radar detectors but hey as long as your slowed down before they hit you with either the laser or the radar they don't pull you over.

As far as range on mine, I can get a solid 400yds out on a radar and only about 100yds on a laser. With the laser I have a feeling the only reason it's so short away is because the detector is only getting bounce off from the cars around you.

Yea, I ended up buying mine at work over at Best Buy and with the discount it made it totally worth it. I like the idea behind the cordless but I always figured that as soon as it gets down on batteries they turn into a $300 pile of plastic.

If your lucky enough to have the cop still using radar and he is just blipping it on/off I know I still get a light detection of it. Only reason I know that is because I was driving up to NY to visit relatives and a NY State Trooper was sitting behind an embankment and would just hit each car as it passed, I did get a slight 1 bar detection a little bit back so I slowed down a little then as I passed him it went from a 1 bar all the way to full.

Unfortunately with it being DC there is big technology so many of the local cops are switching over to laser which is tougher for me to avoid 'em. [8D]
