alexi21... Here a wheel link for you.... good luck with your purchase. I love my car (01.5 w/ 43k)after about 4 months of owning it. I settled for an auto but I ended up liking it after awhile. I have a decent commute in annoying traffic so it made sense.

I still haven't decided with wheels to get either...

Thanks for the link! I haven't looked at all of them yet, but I was looking earlier and I like these RS4 wheels here:

Nothing too flashy, but I think they would be a nice improvement over the stock wheels. And I think it would look nice on a blue S4. I've been doing some reading and the more I read the more I like the car. I can't wait until I finally close on the house so that I can start seriously looking for a S4.

Remember after driving it hard that you want to allow yourself 3-5 minutes to let the engine run at idle to cool down the turbo's (will improve their life). A good first buy would be a SAMCO throttle body boot and MAF sensor.
the B5 S4 has an after-run pump, so if you take it easy driving in the parking lot or as you pull up to your destination, extensive idling shouldn't be necessary.

also, the MAF was only an issue with the early builds. audi beefed up a few things with the 01.5+.

After-run pump or not...it can't hurt to let it idle for a couple minutes to cool it down. More important however it letting it warm up before giving it WOT or beating on it. Be sure the oil temp gauge is at least up to 175-200 before pounding on it.... and start to take it easy if it ever gets above 250.

B5 S4's are high maintance cars....be prepared for it. Audi designed an amazing car and then value engineered it to keep its price reasonable.....the little electrical and inexpensive small parts is where these seems to be most evident. However in my mind they are worth it.

i hear ya - a few extra minutes never hurts. imho, i always thought that letting the car cool down while driving was best since that would introduce cooler air from the outside over the engine, rather than sitting in one place in its own hot hair.

Default S-car is what you want.

If I had it my way,...All the S-Cars would only come in manual. You will love a S-car. It sounds exactly what your looking for.
Alot of people dont know what they are or even know what they are looking at when they see one. People that know cars pick them out right away. Thats the point. I found that S-car (M & AMG car)owners are not needy and insecure like alot of sportscar owners that seem to say "Look at me". S-Car owners know what they have in their garage.
