Ok, I have 2 S4 Avants I am looking at..
Both are 2001, but one was built 10/00 and the other was 4/01...
So, the first one is the 01
It is silver/black
sunroof
premium
cold weather
6 speed
55K miles
at a used car lot
$14,900
other one is the
01.5 (guessing with 4-01 build date)
Bose
Sunroof
Premium
Cold
Silver/Black
Comes with 2nd set of rims with winter tires
92K miles
$15,000
clutch replaced at 50K miles
1 Owner, all maintance, but the timing belt was not changed at 75K miles, but says all other maintance was done..
So, the 01.5 is closer to me, I can go get it and check it out, the 01 is 800 miles and I will have to have it shipped which will add to the price..
So, Do I buy a 1 owner 01.5 with 90K miles or a 4 owner 01 with 55K miles...
only difference is the 01.5 has the bose system..
any help would be great.

any mods on either? the price sounds too good on the first one, and a bit high on the second, but thats just what i think. personally (unless you like silver), i would hold out for a color that isnt all over the place, nogaro, imola, white???

I do like silver, my favorite is yellow, but a yellow 6 speed Avant S4 is hard to find.. 2nd best to me is the dark blue
I bought the first one yesterday, I fly and get it Sat, we shall see how it looks when I get there, it is supposed to be perfect, no scratches, bents, dings nothing...
Of course I am going to mod it ASAP.. Exhaust and chip first, I think I am going with the MTM chip, I have heard nothing but good things about it..
I also have a 2002 Mini Cooper S with the John Cooper Works package that is Silver and black
AND a 1972 Dodge Challenger that is Silver and BLUE so another silver car would fit right in....
AND My wife has a 2005 Sequoia that is Silver... Maybe I should of looked for a different color..
Besides, I have a realllllly heavy foot so stelth is good

Good luck with the car and congrats on getting an Avant. Amazing price too.
Oh, I say I would have avoided silver because its what I have and its the only regret I have about my car.

I agree, I might grow to regret getting Silver, but at least I found a S4 Avant.. They are kinda rare...
This is the one I wanted but I could not get him to sell it, I offered him $33K for it..
it is a 2002 with FULL MTM RS4 converison, RS4 intercoolers, turbos, etc...
but he decided last minute not to sell it..
And here is a picture of the one I got...

I did see a 01.5 or newer Santorin Avant recently........thats what I wish I did start with.
