New clutch..
Alright so my cars in the tranny shop because its like a bome went off inside there. The mechanic told me that the clutch was gone, and that he would warranty it concidering he put it in only a year ago, thing is that he cant get one from the company that he uses and stands behind. So he said I could go out and get any clutch that I wanted, Id have to pay for it, but he would put it in with no charge. Apparentley I burned the hell out of that clutch somehow, not sure how but does anyone know of a good clutch that will hold up and that isnt insanley priced?
I'm living the gone clutch problem too. Since you burn it in a year you're better upgrade your
setup. I was lucky and find a brand new AWE stage 2 clutch on AW classified for 500$ (usually they run for 779 $) + i had too buy a resurfaced FW from Vast Performance for 290 $ including a 100$ core fee and transport. In your case work is free
. I agree with TKneedsS4 about RS4 kits
but they were around 500 $ the last time i checked for them. Since the work is free i recommend you
to buy a strong package, even if it cost a little more, this way you will not have too re-live this situation.
Good luck

Another quick question, I was talking to my cousin and he said he knew someone that could make/get me a kevlar clutch. He needs my old clutch and pressure plate. Im not sure if he makes it or what. Im going to ask him more about it today, but has anyone else heard of this before?
on VASTperformance.com
These stage 2 and beyond, custom clutches for the 2.7T motor are intended to be a step beyond a standard RS4 clutch, with similar drivability. Stage 1 is a standard RS4 clutch. The discs are fully sprung in the hub and dampened between friction sides. We recommend a kevlar setup for daily driving with either our resurfaced OEM flywheel or the lightweight flywheel. It will require a delicate break in process during the first 500 miles. The higher torque capacity ceramic disc option is slightly more harsh to engage with a lightweight flywheel, but for smoother daily driving, a resurfaced OEM flywheel is recommended to be used with this. All pressure plates retain the self-adjusting mechanism operation and we preset them before shipping. We recommend double checking the SAC zero position before final installation. Unless otherwise noted or a custom order is placed for a modified pressure plate, all pressure plates used will be a genuine Audi RS4.
Included with all kits is all clutch to flywheel hardware, throwout bearing and clutch alignment tool

alright nevermind, theres a guy around here thats gonna take my old burnt clutch and kevlar it for $225. Pretty cheap. He said he would take everything, pressure plate, etc, and kevlar it all for $375. Think I should do it all or just the disc, concidering labor is free and everything in there is brand new (pressure plate, etc.) besides the clutch.
really hes gonna try to modify a stock disc and make it a kevlar unit..... Please take pictures if u can before this gets installed. i just wanna see the work haha im very intrigued. I didnt think the stocker could be kevlard' because of the design, would think you need liek a 6 puck system to kevlar it. or soemthing better like that.
But hey Whatever works for you, i owuld try to get this guy to give u a 100% guarentee that it is going to work. haha

you are just looking for trouble trying to keep your old prussure plate.
not to be rude but your mechanic needs a lession in audi clutches. if your old disk was worn then your pp had to adjust to keep the clamp load. as the pp adjusts it is puttin more prussure on the disk. as the pp gets more use and stress the pp it self starts to warp from the heat this is what can cause the premature ware of disks. (the pp is worped and is giving uneven clamping force across the disk)
long story short to put in a new clutch and get max clamping force and long term performance you need a good resurfised fw and a new pp and disk
your old stock pp has way less clamping force than a RS4 pp
imop get a vast stage 2 it is 665 add a resurficed fly wheel and you will still pay les than if you got JUST a awe or clutch masters and you will still have the sac on the pp.
the route you are going you are going to spend 3 times as much down the road to try and save a few dollars now.
