New(er) S4 buyer needs answer
Hey guys. New to this forum and looking to get an answer. In the process of buying a 2004 S4 (V8) with approximately 61,000 miles. Does anyone know if this engine requires timing belt / water pump replacement at 75,000 ish miles like the older twin turbo V-6?
Thanks for any responses.

I was under the impression that the V8 has a chain which does not need replacing until it starts making noise. Please see this thread: https://www.audiforums.com/m_787433/tm.htm
Is that wrong?
Note - the accessories belt may need replacing. I know mine was done before I bought it, at about 63k miles.

V8 has a timing chain, but I don't know if the water pumps are still flaky pieces of **** like the rest of the Audi's I've owned. It may be driven by the serpentine belt like any normal V8 car is.
