Default oil leak near turbo and power loss

it looks like my b5 has an oil leak near the drivers turbo. when im on it hard i do smell oil. do i have to pull the engine to check my turbos? the oth er thing is my car has lost some of its topend power. i have apr software and straight pipe exhaust. car has 50,xxx miles on it. tb boot looks good. new divertors. what could be causing this. it kind of stutters a little in high gears and bucks real hard when you let off the gas.

id check your valve cover gaskets and your cam plug on the driver side.. that was all leaking bad on mine.. i also had to do cam seal adjusters.. pretty big job but i did them all at once so that i will not have to worry about any of it..and stutters like mis-fire ?? u may just need a tune up.. dunno if we have a communication break down or what..

make a leak tester. Look on AWE tuning they have one for sale or you can make one. It hooks up to the intake Y pipe. As for doin the seal, gasket, and adjuster, you dont have to pull the motor. Get a bently manual if you do decide to do that work yourself. Its worth ts weight in gold and then some.

i took the y intake pipe out and then took two small aerosol cans (battery protector from permatex i think) and put them and clamped them in the turbo inlet intake tubes.. or whatever their called.. then i took out the boost sensor in the tbb and shaved on a valve stem until it fit pretty perfect and held it in tight.. blocked off the acordian style pcv hose that goes to the y intake pipe and added pressure with an air chuck.. but i only did this because i couldnt wait till i got my pressure tester from awe..lol..
