Hi guys- glad to be here.

I am considering getting a 2005 S4, as they are starting to show up on the used market in my price range. It's at the top end of what I want to spend, so I want to make sure that these beauties aren't any more maintenance-prone than other Audis.

So, what's the deal with reliability on the later models? I'm thinking that the S4 is probably built better than the A4, but might have more issues because of performance parts.

Whatever I get, I really need to last for about 5 years with out any major issues, so I'd love to hear your thoughts.

 

well i have a 2001.5 Audi S4 and i never had a major problem with it... only one check engine occurance in like my 5 years of owning it. But it was a minor vacuum leak that was fixed within like 10minutes.... im not that sure about the V8 models

 

I don`t know how these models are but, if you buy a good warranty with the car you should be fine.
