So the other day, i was using the Triptronic, and i noticed that when i push it hard
The computer will shift on its own at 6800 rpm.
Why wont it let me take it to redline?
Just curious.

 

Exactly, thats the point of having a tip. I dont mind it shifting on it own but i just wish we could rev a bit higher. Not Triptronic but Tiptronic, just lettin you knwo incase you visit anymore forums, they will taunt you for saying it that way.

Get a TIP Chip, it will let you get to redline. Also make sure you don't go all the way to the floor, there is 100% throttle, then past that is the "kick down"
Even in TIP mode it will down shift on you.

If the trans does go into a chipped car redline, it will put the trans in limp mode till you shut the car off.

 

GIAC engine controll chips will also up the rev. limiter and it will shift higher
