2000 S4 70,000 miles

The ride seems very rough over city streets. Loud clunking upon any rougher road. Maybe I was expecting too much.

Anyone else have this issue, if so, what is the fix, what should I check as it is still under warranty.

 

I get no clunking in my 46K mile 2000, but the ride is firm. All my past daily drivers for the last 11 years have been Porsches so I guess I am used to a back breaking suspension.
Where does the clunking seem to come from? front end? Strut bearings?

 

Seems to be coming from the front end. Could the struts be done after 70K. I was looking into Billsteins anyway.

 

check your upper and lower control arms, i dout that is the problem but its my only idea
