Howdy - was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on clutch replacements for an S4.

I own a 2001 S4 and love it! It has just over 65K miles and manual transmission. Purchased as part of Audi's CPO program. Went to a new dealer to have some routine maintenance and they said that my clutch was showing some wear and would need to be replaced soon. They estimated cost of $3K and up. Is this typical ? Not covered under warranty as is "wear and tear" like brakes.

 

Id wait till the clutch started to slip before I would do the job. It will cost about 1100 for stock parts and labor. I had mine done at 100,000 miles. I bought a rs4 clutch kit and a alum. flywheel. it cost me 2200, all together.

 

I just replaced my clutch and everything along with it for $1700. I would just toss the RS4 clutch in...my stock parts were $750...labor was $800...

 

I'd go with an RS4 clutch and resurfaced flywheel from Vast Performance..... between parts and labor I'd be surprised if the total cost was more than $1500-$1700 at an indy shop.
