Hi,

I damaged the trunk on my girlfriends 01.5 Audi S4, while parking our Tundra. Needless to say the Tundra is fine, but I feel like an idiot, and have a trunk that I need to fix. I'd rather not have the trunk repaired, so I'm trying to find what will work as a direct swap. I have found a 99 Silver A4 trunklid, asides from badging will this be a proper fit for her silver S4? Is the 99 A4 silver and 01.5 S4 silver the same colour? Are the trunk lids the same shape/fit? It isn't an issue to swap badges. Please help.

Look for the paint codes, that is the ONLY way to tell if the colors are the same.

I believe 99 is pre-facelift, so the trunk is a little different, but will fit fin.

In fact, you can fit any B5 trunk to it. But getting the silver to match is going to be really hard, even on the same paint code due to it being a metallic paint.

 

True. There are variants within the paint code that should be in the paint mfgr. book, it may be a close match or it may be way off. Imola has 4 variants, the shop that painted my front bumper went through 3 of them before they got the formula right. But a close match is better than amangled upboot.

 

Badge swapping should be no biggie, a heat gun and some floss takes off badging and a new one takes care of well... the new one.

 

Found this thread while searching and I figured I would revive it. I need trunk help, but not a new one. My dash is showing the trunk light, showing it as open, when in fact it is closed.

Anyone know where this wiring is?

I've been playing around where the trunk latches and cannot seem to get it to trigger off.

Any help is appreciated.
