salt and corrosion
does anyone know if the 2001 s4 has rust proof protection? and while i'm asking, i moved to a place where they salt constantly... any use in washing the car if in 10 minutes my car will be covered in salt again? i'd appreciate your opinions. thanks.
personally, i think it's worth washing it. it's a lot better than letting the salt stay and corrode. i wash my car every weekend. that may be a bit obsessive but i mean come on... it's an S4 for crying out loud!! gotta take care of it!
I am pretty sure Audi has a 10 year rust warranty as well. I live in Wisconsin and still owna 1993 URS4. It has seen a lot of winters with plenty of salt. I got my first rust spot (size of a quarter)above the liscence plate this year.
All cars have rust proofing now, it's been that way for almost 30 years.
If you live in the salt belt, I would wash down the car once a week, so it doesn't get trapped in a little crevasse.

10 year warranty meaning that if any rust is on the car in 10 years the dealer will fix it for free?
if that's the case then i'd rather not wash the car so excessively and put the extra $20 per wash to other use.

now this is where things get sticky ( its a perforation rust thing ) dosnt cover a stone chip if not fixed by the dealer or you dont fix it, the Santa clause theory ( your wishes are just wishes ) read the small print
