thinking about buying a 2000 S4 w/69,000 miles

I'm thinking about buying a 2000 S4 w/69,000 miles for $15,000. What are your thoughts. I know each car is different but is that too many miles? What things start to wear out aroung this mileage? Thanks for any info.

hmm I kinda frown on the tip Transmision unless it doesnt bother you..


as for mileage - have the waterpump / timing belt etc. been replaced?


good luck on the purchase..
you'll have alot of fun w/ the car.. but be forewarned.
it has the possibility to give you a world of grief too...

Im not very happy w/ my car right now...

Seams fine, make sure the 60kmi service was done, and that is has some records.

Your going to need to save up for the Timing belt job, and I would bet it needs DV & TBB.

I got a 2000 with similar miles about 6 months ago and the DV's and TBB were fine on it (I saw that when I replaced them). Will probably need a TB job though.

Diverter Valve, AKA BOV
TBB throttle body boot

DV's leak, and TBB's rip, both are bad & very common!
