Default Torn down 6 speed, for the curious ones

see this post for why: https://www.audiforums.com/m_132391/tm.htm

Happy joy, this tranny is a chore for teardown. I found the 1-2 shift collar bound up. I ordered a new one, it costs $600, ouch! I also ordered new synchros, they are over $100 a piece and I need 6, double ouch. I couldn't live with myself if I didn't change them with 90k miles on the car. Here are some pics of it apart for your enjoyment.

I just think about the labor money I am saving and the pain goes away.

Hey Jay,

Interesting that you had the 1st to 2nd go out on you. That's what happened to me, but under the original manufacture warranty. The dealer said it came to about $7,000.00 for a new tranny. You saved a lot in labor.

OMG. That makes my friggin year.

By the way I just got the tranny all back together tonight. I ended up buying the AWE-tuning stage 2 clutch to go with it. So it should be awesome shifting when put back together.

You mean I am not supposed to have a box full of extra parts. I thought that would reduce the rotating mass and make it faster. [8D]LOL
