Duke...

Where do you work for skip? I've had a couple friends work for him over the years and I even did the 3-day school with them at Lime Rock.

holy cr@p 12.6 fwd?? that's haulin!! slicks and diff?
there a couple pics of the car (not technical) on my myspace ( http://www.myspace.com/earleh )
also check me at dsmtuners, i'm duke52

I don't have anything posted under the car apparently... i'll be swaping rear ends next week (hopefully), i'll take some pics then,
I did the swap because i was sick of popping fwd tranys, and i like to be different, an added plus was not telling anyone and supprising the hell out of ppl when i pulled the front left off the ground at the track the only pita parts were cutting the trunk floor to get at the different holes for mounting the cradle (the holes are there for both fwd and awd, just covered by the floor, to put the bolts in you have to cut the floor away and remove the old one and replace them with awd ones) and mounting the drive shaft support bearings (not really that bad, but i'm wicked OCD so i must have measured it 200 times) if he wants more details let me know, it was actually alot of fun!

i ran a 12.3 w/ last year, turned out i was down on compression 130-115-150-140 (ouch) putting 299 to the wheels, dyno'd it and pulled another 27 hp bringing it to 326 whp and 328tq, So i pulled it apart re-ringed it, put abunch of other parts on it, and broke it the first time i launched it after the break-in period... Aaron at VR(dyno shop) thinks i should be around 410 w/ good compression... i'll let ya know as soon as i have it back together...

so no acess to the turbo's from the trany area? I'm glad you said so, cause i would have ended up pulling it for no reason then. The caster set up your talking about, did you make it out of 2x4's and heavy duty casters from a hardware store?

He has an LSD but no slicks on the GST. so yeah..fwd He can drive like Hell.. he's broke a few diff's but now has a built TRE tranny with GVR4 gearing and a bumch of other crap..

about the turbo's in the AUdi.. Its VERY VERY tight in there and you may get them off but you will play hell reinstalling the new ones. Yes the Cradle was made of 2X4's a heavy duty casters. I'll try to get a picture of it for you.

Sorry, i totally missed your post!
I work in Lakeville at the corporate office, it's like 3min from Lime Rock, I've been with the company just over 4 years now. I am a Program Manager for the OEM division, i deal mainly with GM, VW/Audi, Hummer, and Mazda now, so i don't get to see the school / race series side of things all that often anymore,

What did you think of the class? when did you take it?? what's your buds name, i bet i know them!

I took that class back in 2001....it was actually were I was during 9/11. Despite that, it was still a great experience that I learned a lot from. I only wish I continued to pursue it.

Both guys had left prior Skip prior to me taking the class in 2001....one was a mechanic and went on to work for Cunningham there in Lakeview for a while then got out of the industry (he is now a Union Operating Engineer). The other worked all over, even for Riley&Scott and now currently for Pratt&Miller. I rather not name them on here, but PM me if you are interested and I'll give you their names.
