Question Turbos gone! ? about ko4s

SO the turbo lady has come for my S4 and that stops my project on the A4 . So i had some money saved up for the A4 and im pretty close to the price of new RSKO4s for the S4 and could have enough within a month or so. My question is if I get the KO4s and run them without intercooler, exhaust, downpipes and all that, will that hurt my car? Id like to just replace the turbos going with the KO4s and then add the other mods to go with them a few months down the road because i dont have the money at this time. So if running the KO4s will do any harm or have any ill effects on my car please let me know, any info is helpful, thanks.

honestly, if your going k04 in a budget look up something called Stage 3-, basically a minimally tuned version which is less powerful but is supported by OEM parts, this is a good temporary thing if you want to do run them on a budget.

you should contact 10sec4 for more stage 3- info

well to answer your question, no it will not affect anything. But you will need a few things in order for them to hook up. 1.) would be new inlets bc the ko3 inlets wont fit around the k04's due to larger inducers, 034motorsports sells inlets for 350 i think compared to the oem rs4 whhich are some 600 so you do the math. also an installation kit with all new gaskets is a must.

If i were you I would just go to an audi dealership and buy an extended powertrain warranty for like 2800 bucks. You can finance it too buy putting 10% down. That will cover your K03s. You can choose the length of the term 1, 2, or 3 years I think. In the meantime you can save up for a full stage 3 and not have to worry about your turbos anymore since they will be covered. Thats the smart way to go I think.

Buy K04's and 034 inlets.

Find an independent shop or DIY. Gut your stock downpipes while the motor is out.

Im in the exact same boat. Blew the drivers side turbo and weighing options. Would love to go full k04, but seems like its out of my price range right now.

has anyone had any experience buying an extended powertrain warranty after they blew their turbos?

trust me if you cant afford K04s buy an extended powertrain warranty. its worth it. All you have to do is put 10% down so like 200-400 bucks depending on how many years you get the warranty for. then you will pay a monthly payment with 0% interest for 18 months. In the meantime, you can get crazy and not have to worry about whether you are gonna blow a turbo or not since they'll be covered. Then you can chip the new k03s when you get them and save up for K04s. Thats the way to go if cash flow is a problem.

extended powertrain warranty sounds like the way to go right now for sure.... but how can you buy a warranty for a car with a blown turbo? Isnt this like buying fire insurance after you burned down the house?

i dont know if his turbo is blown. he just said the turbo lady was comin. I assumed it was whining a bit. I still think hes eligible for a warranty.
