Couple things, the S4 and allroad v8's use a timing chain, so no belt to worry about. That's a significant savings. The 2.7t in the allroad has had turbo problems and they are not always covered under warranty(very expensive fix), plus the air bags. The 2.0 has a timing belt, but gets great mpg, so the cost of maintainence might be offset with the mpg's. Since you didn't like the wagon feel of the allroad, I would go with the S4 if you don't drive major miles on a daily basis. However, you can also get rid of the airbags in the allroad and put some coilovers in for better feel. The allroad v8 only comes in automatic as well.
