b5 s4 wont start. i have just replaced the other temp switch both are now green but car still wont start. the coolant level sensor on the bottom of the tank has broken wires. will that cause it not to start? it starts after trying for a little bit

Is the check eng light on? Have you scanned it for any codes? Could be a number of things. I've had that problem where it would just crank and crank for about 10 seconds and sputter to a start, but it was only after just getting gas. Turned out to be a bad evap purge valve. I've also heard of the engine position sensors going bad that would cause it not to start. Might also be fuel pump / clogged filter.
