Default Wtb: New tranny!!

I am in desperate need of a new tranny. A couple months ago the 2nd gear synchro went out on my '00 s4 (at least I think that's the problem) and the car won't even shift into 2nd gear. The whole transmission feels horrible, and given that I don't have the time and due to the high mileage on the car, I'd like to just replace the whole tranny instead of opening it up and dealing with whatever needs to be replaced. So I'm looking for a b5 s4 tranny (preferably one thats been rebuilt with the improved synchros). If you have one or know of anyone that does please let me know--I am willing to negotiate a good price. Need it ASAP!

i just rebuilt my o1e with the advancedautomotion rebuild kit.
i did it in a camping tent in my yard with mostly basic hand tools. I did use a press for a few parts though.
the jhm video is great if you decide to diy.

I'm located in Raleigh, NC. Yeh I've been referenced to that site and was close to buying the rebuild kit but found out it would be cheaper to swap a whole new tranny in, instead of paying someone to do the rebuild labor (I really just don't have the time or second car to try it myself). Any suggestions as to where to buy a used tranny??

you could buy a tranny that needs a rebuild for $300 or so over on fourtitude.com classifieds.
lots of partouts over there.
rebuild that in your spare time for $950 in parts.
then sell your old tranny when you put the rebuilt one in.

in the end you get a tranny you can trust that will last you a long time for $950
