Default Suggestions on upgrading a 2000 S4

I have a 2000 S4 - original owner, only 60k miles on the car. Basically a weekend car, but I have put an APR chip in it (quite a while ago... when I first bought the car). Been thinking of doing a little playing around with the car recently, and doing a few mods/tuning/upgrading. I'm a relative noob when it comes to what I should do, so looking for some advice on how to bring the car along and in what order... The car has been garaged, and has had all major and required service (timing belt, pump, all necessary oil changes, etc. ).

things I've been thinking of -
- replacing the exhaust (only really looked at APR and looking at downpipes with cat back exhaust), but any suggestions on any other options from other vendors? It's easy to get overwhelmed when reading through the threads. I'd like to understand if you go with one vendor, if it limits you from using another for future upgrades (such as upgrading turbos, etc.)
- should I upgrade the turbos? They are currently the stock ones, but they've served me well and have not had any problems. Would that require me to also upgrade the hoses, etc?
- snub mount?
- short shifter?
- intercooler?
- What order would you do these in?

Just looking for some good thoughts; I've read through a number of threads, but given the age of the car - a lot seem pretty dated and I'm not sure what order to do things in, and what people would suggest as vendors and how to move the car ahead. Is it worth it given the age of the car???

Thanks in advance for your help!

The options are basically endless for the platform so it really depends on what you want from it. Are looking to add just a bit more oomph or are you looking for a high HP, super car killler? In word "is it worth it?" = Yes.

one of the first things you should add before going for more power is a boost gauge

edit: I like me some AudiForums but there is waaay more activity and info at Audizine.com for this platform

boost gauge is a perfect start. from there i would definitely go with some quality coil overs(h/r,bilstein,kw), 034 snub mount and a rear sway bar(034 or hotchkis).

as for a catback autospeed, mtm, borla, awe, fast intentions, 034 and ss autochrome are all great choices. For "best bang for your buck" go with the ss autochrome exhaust. great price and quality is pretty good. i'd pair this up to there 3 inch downpipes as well.

samco silicone hose kit, a pair of 710n diverter valves and some upgraded engine/tranny mounts(034 or stern) will balance everything out. water meth injection is also a nice option to help keep intake air temps down while still on stock intercoolers.

from there you can either get a stage 2 tune and some upgraded side mount intercoolers or go full stage 3 or higher, depending on turbo choice.
