Hi There!

HAPPY NEW YEAR ONE AND ALL!

Recently purchased a 2008 S6 5.2 V10 Avant with just under 100k on it.

Love the car, and looking to make it our family keeper until it becomes no longer cost effective to keep it on the road which hopefully will be many years from now.

Ive already done quite a few quick wins:
upgraded ICE to include wireless Apple Car Play
added reversing camera
added dashcams front&rear (cheaper insurance)
added scorpion tracker (cheaper insurance)
upgraded discs, callipers and pads to biggest that will fit. Stops super quick now.
carbon cleaned the engine,
discovered the ecu has been previously mapped.

its now coming up for the first time i need to MOT it, and I was thinking whilst it was in there I’d get it serviced and a few jobs done.
There’s a small coolant leak that I want sorted, but other than that I’m hoping the service will be relatively painless.

So thinking ahead, I’ve upgraded the breaks, so the next 3 steps I can think of are suspension, Air in and air out.

Wondering if there’s an opinion of what order is best given I have a limited budget to spend in one go so can’t just upgrade everything instantly.

i was thinking I’d start with the air intake.

the only conical system I can seem to find online is by MSDS in the States, who offer a duel cone system suitable. It’s $200 plus shipping to the UK. Which isn’t obscene money given that a standard filter replacement is about £50.

Wondering if anyone has done this already? What people’s thoughts are. Do you think there’ll be any issues with the MAFF? what about the fact mines a UK market RHD as opposed to US LHD?

I see this forum isn’t super active, but hoping to change that if I can find others interested in keeping their old v10s going whilst everyone else goes green! ☺️

many thanks for any input, looking forward to getting to know some of you.

cheers, Rob.
