I'm not going to get into a TA vs Evo battle on an Audi forum. (Actually, don't know why this thread was even posted on an Audi forum) It's just funny how many never ending posts there are about someone smoking an Evo. If everyone thinks this car is crap, why are there so many posts on this forum about it. Here's the simple fact: The Evo is an extraordinary car for what it was designed to be. It wasn't designed to be a drag car (Yet there are daily driven Evos doing 8 - 9 second quarter miles). It's a turbo charged rally car. (2.0 l engine in order to conform to rules of rally). On a road course, autocross track, or rally course it's a beast. It takes very well to modifications, and it doesn't cost $$$$$$$$$$$ to make 500 whp. It can hang with and outperform many supercars for a fraction of the price. While I don't doubt that you beat this Evo on the street, I am also willing to bet that he didn't have $10,000-$15,000 into the car. He probably had basic boly-ons if lucky.

Umm why did you make a new thread? Evos are great cars, bit about the autoX and tarmac racing is wrong. RWD is made for track racing. As you said it is a rally car. But as for the rally comment, the EVO 9 never even got rallied did it? Or am i just forgetting? :S

 

Man what a tool you are !New Evo 9 35k my TA 11k, him cupple grand in mods not sure, me 5k in mods do the math by the time I spend 35k on my car I would have a9 sec or lower car. Evos are nice and all andif you need a ladder you got one on thetrunk its an amazing feature !Dont start stupid threads because you need to prove your Evo no one gives a **** and I hope this thread gets locked and tossed because of how stupid it is ! In all fairness, you're comparing an almost-new car to one that's ten years old. That arguement never holds any merit. I could go buy a liter bike for 7K and wipe the floor w/ both your asses. But so what??? I could only ride it in nice weather. Your 9 sec Tran Am would be completely useless on an autoX course and almost so even on the street. There is more to a car's performance than straightline speed. The "If I did this and that, then I could do this and that..." arguement is completely invalid. You can't compare two cars in only one criteria that inherently favors one car. Different strokes for different folks.....



And btw, I'd never buy one, but Evo's are sweet little cars...

 

Dude WTF? Nobody even talked **** about the evo. Why are you so damned sensitive? That comment about "if it were a 500whp evo" was lame too. Yeah, no S. He's luckly it wasn't a Top Fuel dragster too. What does that have to do with anything? He didn't say, "my car is superior to the evo, try to prove me wrong." He just told a story. Get over it.
