1.8 shocks and 2.8 shocks question
i recently bought tein springs and i am having a hard time finding some good shocks for a good price. idealy i would like the bilstein shocks, but i can't find any for a good price. do 1.8 shocks work with a 2.8 and if they do can you use the sports package shocks with after market springs on a 2.8

RE: 1.8 shocks and 2.8 shocks question
hey, you can find a full set of bilstein shocks off of ebay for a great price these days. I ordered some. Came brand new in box. They're amazing on my b5 2.8. Love them. Let me know how the Tiens work out too. I'm curious because that's what i was contemplating but i've heard so many people say that they're not good on the 2.8 b5 model.

You can use sport shocks from a 1.8T on a 2.8 - they're basically the same thing. 1.8T springs are no good though - the spring rate is too low and you'll probably hit the bumpstops. Ideally for an OEM setup you'd get S4 shocks and springs. I had them before my coilovers. You only go about a fingerwidth lower but the ride and handling is fantastic. Search feature above will unearth a lot more info on this.
