Default Alignment issues...

An alignment done by one of these chain stores is more than likely "set the toe and let it go". That is not to say that there aren't good people working at some of them, however I find that to be the exception, rather than the rule.

If you are an automotive enthusiast, seek out a race shop or a shop that does alignments on race cars. There you will find someone capable of making your car handle the way it should, not just go down the street with the wheel centered.

A good shop can (and should) compensate for lowered suspension, non stock bushings, stiffer sway bars, etc...

If you want to be thrifty, go ahead and find a chain with lifetime alignment. If you want it right, find the right guy and pay the price. It really is that simple.

Best of luck to all.

How often is it necessary to get an alignment? Just at the recommended intervals and whenever it pulls to one side? Just trying to figure out how much money I'd actually be saving by getting one of those lifetime alignment deals.

Good advice though, thanks.
