Installation
Last week I purchased a new VAG-COM cable on eBay. It came with a small cd and the cable. My husband and I have tried to install it on our laptops but cannot do so. We have a choice of 4 laptops to install it on ranging from one with Win XP to Win 10.
Will someone please tell me what we are doing wrong on the installation?
Also, I have read mention of going to web site that starts with Ross to down load new drivers for the cable.
Thanks, bjh1225

If it is an original cable you would get all the support you need from the company who sells them:
Ross-Tech: Home
The way it usually works is you buy the cable from their website, you install the software from their website and when you plug the cable in (windows 7 should work fine, that's what I use) it will tell the software it's not counterfeit hardware and enable the full version. Go to the options button on the main screen so it can verify the settings. Hit the test button and if successful click save.
Everything else (like how to use the software and what to do with the codes) should be on the website.
