DAMN those wheels are thrashed......like I said as long as you have the time to grind/sand the wheels smooth, put some filler on some of those scrapes, clean them, prime them and then paint them you get a decent result. I mean ****, they are down to metal so, the adhesion should be better than painting over something else I would think.

Looks like the top 2 tires look like they are on their way out. The bottom 2 look like they are a little low but could probably last. I wouldn't take the chance though, especially if you know for a fact you will be driving in snow.

I thought my stock 15's looked bad, but daaaaaaamn!

As far as the tires, though, they're definately not snow tires! They don't even look like all season. Would they get you through winter? Maybe... Keep you out of a ditch on a ski trip through some snowy mountains? Not too sure...

BTW, if you make it to NY for some snowboarding, White Face out by Lake Placid was incredible. It's a looooooong way from Ohio, though, probably a weekend trip. God, I hate Kansas...

Haha yeahhh i said they were bad! i havent used them tho they just came with the car... but ya sooo... new tires got that part..
As for the rest paint stripper and spraypaint? Not worth a good pro powdercoat?

But ya brad im more in the holiday valley range haha its about... idk 5.5 hours out. Long *** trip but its always worth it. Last year we took my dads escalade and that made it thru the snow but there was a LOT of it last year. Hopefully the q holds up haha. I'm excited to do some sick donuts in the snow lol :P

Powdercoat would work. As part of the prep they "sand"blast the wheel before coating anyways so.....as long as the price is right, it should hold up better than the paint. You could always take the wheels to get blasted yourself if you wanted too.

I just found out that I had a connection on a powdercoater GO FIGURE!?

but still... they want to charge me $60 a wheel --> $240 duh...
now... i dont know if this is still worth it though seeing as how i really only plan to use these wheels in the winter... But i hear that normally it costs a body shop around $500 to do a set so its a pretty good hookup...

I'm cheap haha what can i say... :/
I'll prob just end up doing it myself..
but I'll deff post pix whenever it happens

no brainer dude, powdercoat them. At that cost, if the wheels stay in good shape, sell them come summer for a profit and buy some cheap stockers, or don't and revel in the fact that you'll have nice looking wheels year round.

The hell with powdercoating them - theyre winter wheels. Who cares what they look like? As for snow tires, look up Green Diamond tires. Insane ice/snow tires with embedded carbide teeth in the compound. And they're inexpensive too. Buddy of mine was unstoppable with them on an Achieva. He runs them on his A4 quattro now and it's ridiculous.

As for 18" tires, I got my Michelin Pilot Sports used at a local place (with about 80-85% tread remaining) for $169.40 out the door for the set of four. Had them mounted elsewhere since they monkey-mount them with hammers at the used tire place, but to get $900+ in tires for less than $170 - I'll do that any day.

Haha hell yeah if you can find a deal like that!

I had a guy offer me some near brand new 18's for 90 a piece but had to pass unfortunately.
But if i could find a deal like that on 4 tires I'd be on it in a second!?
Where did you get them? If you dont mind me asking.
But thanks for the word on the green diamonds, I'm gonna look into those today.
