They rock. He drove to CT to see his brother, came down the street, stopped and parked on a dime, then got out and fell on his *** - he had no idea the road was icy because of the tires.

As for the 18s, I got them at TJ Tires in Great Bend PA about 15 minutes from my house. You can call them and see if they'd ship to you. Number is 570-879-8090. If they won't, PM me and maybe I can help you out. Also check craigslist or even at a BMW, Audi, or Mercedes dealership and see if they have any used tires from a trade-in that they want to unload. You may get lucky that way too.

hey devil....I looked up the Green Diamonds.....do you have any insight on how well they wear? I looked on the page and they say how get they grip but not much on wear. I'm leaning towards the Hakkapeliitta's because a buddy of mine ran them on his Talon TSi and he had them for 3 seasons. Just wanted to know before I buy...

I want to say he ran 3-4 winters on one set and had tread left so the wear is pretty good. I think Hiwords has the Hakkepelittas or something similar - I'd buzz him too and get his impressions on their wear. I know they're monsters for traction - he raved about them. On my winter wheels I'm running Hankook Icebears and I love them. They also wear well - I got them with one season on them, I've put a season on them myself, and they look barely used.

those IceBears sound pretty good, and they are about $30 cheaper than the Hakkepelittas. Very interesting....

I'm very happy with the Icebears. Even all-season tires aren't bad when you have quattro but mount a set of dedicated snow/ice tires and the difference is a real eye-opener. The tires matter even more than quattro, believe me.

My all-seasons wore like a mother this year. I have always been a fan of committed weather tires instead of all-seasons, they wear to damn quickly. I'm stuck between the three tires now. Gotta decide soon......

If the price is right for you buy 'em. I for one feel that tires are of utmost most importance.

I personally would wait a tad and try to afford something a little better but I'm not privy to your situation so.........
