Default Rubber Axel Boot Cracked Open.

2002 Alroad with around 48,000mi.
Was changing my oil today and Noticed that the rubber axel boot on the inside of the Front Passenger side wheel was cracked open and greece was spattered all over the inside of the wheel and Brake caliper.
Just curious if anyone has experienced this.....
Any rough ideas on the cost to repair ?
I'm sure the rubber boot is cheap........but the labor to take everything apart to get to the boot probably ain't cheap ?
Probably save some money by getting the part myself an just take it to a Smaller Euopean repair shop ?

And How bad is it to drive like this before it gets fixed ?
It looks like there isn't any greece left in the boot.
I looked inside the crack on the boot and it looks pretty empty
If anyone has any helpful info on this please reply.
Thanks,
Jeff -

Cool...........Thanks for the input.
I just called a smaller european / Foreign repair shop.....
They said $129 to put a new boot on......not too bad I guess.
