My 06 A3 is about to roll up on 40k miles so it is time to start looking for an extended warranty. Any of you out there recently get some quotes for a 100k warranty? 0 deduct or 100 deduct? Any ideas on a fair price from dealer?

Should I just just hope nothing goes wrong and roll the dice?

Perhaps the taxes on a new car would be cheaper than an extended warranty?

Have you had any problems with your car? Why do you "need" an extended warranty? Take that money and put it in the bank against future repairs. Odds are that you'll come out ahead.

With this being my first foreign car, I thought it would be wise to have the warranty for the costly repairs if something does go wrong. My first quote online was for $2900 for 100k, 0 deduct. People have told me how costly repairs can be on Audi, BMW and so on. Their have been no problems thus far. I love the car, I just wish I didn't have to put so many miles on it. I drive 75mi a day hwy. I also drive to various bike races in the midwest.
