Default Random, minor questions

1. Can you actually fit skis inside the A3 (either through the center passthrough or with the 60/40 down)? Looking at the trunk it seemed like it may be too short to fit skis without propping them onto the center console, which I imagine would be hell to drive with.

2. The warranty is 4yrs/50,000 miles. The dealer also offers "service" for 5yrs/45,000 miles for $600. What is the difference between the two? Do people recommend the service package?

3. 2008 models come out sometime in August? When are the specs/pricing for the new model released? (Or is there any knowledge about the next model year available already?) Reason I ask is because I may order from the factory, so I may delay a few months to submit an order for the next model.

Thats it for now...

I don't know about ski's, but I have to put my 157cm snowboard in at an angle and it still hits up against the back of the seat.

1. Dunno

2.If you get DSG and drive average miles yearly (15K), then service package is a good deal- covers scheduled maintenance for the specified period, and the DSG service at 35K is $300-400.

3. You'll be able to order an '08 real soon; I ordered my '07 on April 23rd last year, the day the order sheets were issued. I got the car July 8th.

For 1, you have to put down the arm rest. It's not that bad to drive with it down, even with a standard. It also depends on how long the skis are. If you put them on the arm rest, make sure you either have them in a ski bag, or cover the arm with a thicker jacket so that the edges of the skis don't cut into the arm rest cover.

Same exact snowboard length for me, same exact situation. I guess the pass-thru isn't as useful as we'd like.

1. Only shorter skis can fit through the pass-thru. If you have one back seat down, though, you can fit most skis and snowboards in at an angle. Of course, you lose one backseat.

2. If it is the same service package I bought, it is good for service such as regular services intervals (15k, 30k, etc.) and maybe oil changes I think. Warranty service only covers fixing things that go wrong with your car.

3. No clue about the new models, but you are probably better off waiting for them anyway. At the very least, you can get a better deal on an 07 model.

2) The bumper-to-bumper warranty is for 4 years/50,000 miles. Ok the first A3 maintenance at 5K miles is free. The option service plan sold in USA for $550 covers the maintenance for 15K, 25K, 35K, and 45K mileage service points. Talk to a service advisor at a Audi dealer and he can tell you how much each of the four services costs, then you'll know.
