Oh. Check engine lights flashing mean damage is being caused by driving. You could drive there and not see problems or it is possible it could blow the motor.
You got a point there... I guess by spending 115$ on a tow is an insurance to not spend 3-4k on a new motor.

Have any of you ever fixed this type of problem by unwrapping the wires that lead to the MAF and finding a frayed wire??

Yes i noticed the plug is a bit damaged but its just the edges.. that might be the problem???

Yeah, but im getting P1287 not P1278... but thats for the help though

Take it to the dealer if you want. I know there has to be some other Audi/VW guys in your area. Try looking on this board and the others for soemone to help you.

my apols there P1287 = turbo bypass valve open circuit, wiring open circuit of bad bypass valve

So I went back to where my car was and brought a new coil pack with me and a new connector for the MAF. After replacing the connector to the MAF i still get a low voltage reading to the MAF of P0102 but the car runs fine now and no more misfires coming from cyl. 3 (po303)... So im still going to bring it the dealer to check the wiring of the MAF but im happy thats its back up and running and i can drive it there..
