You know how in the deck that holds the Bose subwoofer there is 2 spots for a sub, one empty. Well, is it possible to add another Bose sub in there? and possibly anothe little amp. Would this be expensive?

Is this a stupid idea, thats why no replies? It just seemed like it would work since there is another space for a sub in the rear deck, and it would save me from putting a box in my trunk, especially when all I want is just a little more bass, not much.

I think the stock single sub has plenty of base IMO. What is the size of that?

Don't know, never heard of anyone doing it. Most people add an aftermarket sub and amp to fill in the lows.

take the car to a local shop and get an estimate... if the sub fits it would b no different than wiring a sub in a box.

Just make sure you get an open air sub, and that you have the power to drive it (doubt the puny Bose amp can).

I think a lot of people havn't done it b/c it doens't make much sense to do...

Cost of a decent open air sub? ~$100 (off the top of my head guess)
Cost of an Amp to power it ~ $200 (assuming the $1/1watt rms)
Cost of power cables to wire amp ~$60
Total: $360....

You could get a totally decent 10" sealed box sub w/ the same amp which would have better SQ, more flexable in terms of box sizes, ports, bandpass... and generally better bass. Why jump through hoops when something simple is a little further down the road...
