2003 1.8T CVT ECU re-program
Anyone have comments on ECU re-programming for 2003 A4 1.8T CVT?

I'm hearing mixed feedback on upgrading a CVT transmissioned car.

Any input would be much appreciated.

well the deal is that you cant mod it as much as with the regular transmision becuase the cvt is basically a belt drive system and the belt can only hadle somthing like 220-240ft lbs tourque I cant remeber which but you can chip it and still be safe just dont go crazy on the mods

Is the CVT transmission in 1.8T s the same with the CVT in 3.0's. I mean as far as max torque they can take. Is the CVT on the 3.0 the same part number as in 1.8T.
If not I guess I would feel uncomfartable to be so close to the max torque after chipping the car but if they are the same I guess it could be considered safe since the 3.0 liters are at that torque rating.
I am really scared to break anything in this car because of a modification and than have to deal with service departments.
Thanks
