Default 2007 a4 just stopped running

My son was in his way home from school tonight when he pulled up to a stop and as he started to take off the car died. He said the oil pressure light came on then battery and the car just died. It won't crank or anything. I had it towed to the body shop I work at to look at tomorrow but wanted to see if anyone else has this so I have a place to look? Thank you for any info

Check the oil for any signs of damage to the engine is where I would start. Oil pressure light is not a good sign. You didn't say how many miles are on the car or engine size. That can make a difference as well. If it is a 2.0T I would ask what miles and then if the timing belt has been replaced. If that let go there is a good chance the engine is toast.

when the oil pump has a pressure drop the cam timing chains has slack and can bind up locking the motor

Changed the motor out last weekend, that was a big job! I do body and paint for a living and we pull Motors and stuff all the time but this is the first audi we have done. The mech helped me and he said he won't do another one! We work on German cars all the time and there are always a few in the shop. We got it running but I have vacume in the motor, I take the oil cap off and it sucks air then the motor dies. I ordered a new crank case breather and hope that takes care of it but does anyone have any other things I need to check?

its normal for it to die or stumble with the oil cap off, The motor has a vacuum pump on the back of the head that draws negative vacuum on the motor.

I didn't know that from what I've read online they say if it's doing that then the crank case breather is bad and not venting like it should. The motor runs good but it's sluggish
