HELP A NEW AUDI OWNER

Bought an audi a4 18t 1998 5spd quattro
and having some problems with it
check engine light (cel) came up
when the outside temp was like 100C
then within a week the cel still there and i had about 4 times where you the car failed to start only after 10-15 mins of trying

Problem #2
has some kind of noise from pass side front suspension area
i checked the axle the boots are nearly new
sound gets louder when at higher speeds past 20mph and gets even louder when u turn right at high speeds

Problem #3
at about 5-10mph when pressing brake something clicks where front suspension is at
even if you go reverse and you press brake
clicks once every time you try to stop



Problem #4
The shifter jerks a little sometimes
but thats not from down shifting u could be taking it at low rpms and just kind of let go of the pedal and press it back slowly
the shifter jerks back and forth not the whole car
Problem #5 where is the alarm hood triger located and how is it mounted any one have a picture


ANy help would be apriciated

 

Im a little rusty at my conversion rates, but I believe 100*C would be about 200-215*F. I think at that point your skin would be melting off and you would not have to worry about your car anymore

Problem 1 - probably the coolant temp sensor replace it, clear all codes, see if any come back

Problem 2 - probably a bad cv joint

problem 3 - check the clip that hold the brake pads in place, maybe its come loose. Sounds like the pads are moving around a bit.

problem 4 - not sure, doesnt sound like an issue

problem 5 - Ill see if I can find this and post later if no one else has.

 

nothing of the bold corresponds with the last bit so whats the actual problem??

ok the replacing coolant temp sensor solved the starting problem

code is gone for it and it starts every time

now i think i have a very bad gas cap and i will be replacing the first thing tomorrow because
when the car is idling in neutral for couple minutes you can actually hear the gas cap sucking the air in
