there is no reason the have 8 on the radio since you can only fade front to back...

one goes to the front one goes to the back...

depending on the ohm ratings of the speakers.... you may be able to run them in series. It all depends on how car stereos are setup. I have alot of experience setting up PA systems, but not much w/ cars.... Example... an 8 ohm speaker run in series will drop it down to 4 w/ an added speaker on each channel, and so on. The speakers just need to be designed to handle the ohms.

Ok here's why...

On the back of the radio there are 4 connections for speakers. These connections are used for non-bose audi's.

speaker line, right-front (+)
speaker line, right-front (-)
speaker line, left-front (+)
speaker line, left-front (-)

A low level (RCA) line runs to the rear speakers to the built in amp on the left speaker.
----------------------------------
On bose equiped Audi's none of the speaker lines are used. The low level line goes to the rear amplifier on the rack behind the seat.

The low level lines consist of:
Line out, left-rear
Line out, right-rear
and a common low frequency ground.

Delta System Non-Bose

Stick your head in the trunk. If it is Bose, there should be a black amplifier bolted to the side wall of the drivers side.
