isnt the 328is awd?? i thought that is what the S meant.... could be worng though. they are both great cars i really dont know enough baout bimmers to comments, but im sure u will ove the 1.8t, they seem like alot of fun and responed great to mods.

As far as i kno the "S" means its a 2 door, a 328i would be a 3 series with 4 doors and a 2.8l inline 6, add the "S" and its a 2 door. As for the all wheel drive which is nothing compared to the Audi Quattro I am pretty sure only the cars that end in ix have it. So a 328ix would have all wheel drive but the 328is he wants to get is rear.

I looked at the APR K04 kit with the chip and APR exhaust and everything for $4k...is that about what it would cost to switch to K04 with the right chip and get it breathing right?
If you're looking into getting that kit for 4K then I would look into getting one of these two,

AWE K04

Renn-Art

With the Renn-Art kit though you will need to make sure you have the proper supporting mods so that might end up costing a little more. But for high hp that would be the way to go. The AWE kit would be good hp for a reasonable price.

4k? Renn-Art Kit = 250+ WHP .. with the proper tune 300AWHP...

Ok .... they both weight the same....

BMW = RWD only about 16% Drive Train Loss...
Audi = AWD about 22% Drive Train Loss

Audi will have ALOT more torque than the BMW... w/ the k04/k03....

The most you will get out of a k04 is 210 WHP. but it puts out well over 260ft. pounds of torque (to the wheels)

AWD is much better handling/traction...

If you are mechaniaclly inclined .. do a custom t3/t04e .57 Trim .63 AR turbo... Full 3" Turbo back exhaust... FMIC.. 550CC Injectors.. new clutch... and you can be over 300WHP

The 328iS is not AWD, and there is no such thing as a 328ix (to my knowledge). I'm not an AWD fan for the most part, I am used to having mid-engine rear-wheel drive performance so I would be perfectly content with another RWD car, but if I had an Audi I would want AWD, not FWD.

I dont have $4k to spend on a K04 kit, but unless I've confused myself with all the research I've been doing, I can get a chip seperate ($400) and a K04 seperate ($1000) and basically just swap the turbos out? I have swapped a turbo before on my MR2, so I could probably handle it on the Audi.

One other thing, I was researching chips and the APR chip says that it puts down 240ft/lbs of torque with just the chip for a stock 1.8t...is that correct?

240 @ the crank, yes, but not at the wheels.

Also, I don't think APR makes ko4 software for the 1.8t.

Beamer puts out a 325Xi and a 330Xi which are both awd. There is no such thing as a 328Xi.
