Hello all - I've just installed the Audi iPod adapter (the factory one) and had a question. The instructions say the radio (Symphony II) needs to be encoded in CD-Changer mode and references a tool VAS 5051. Is there an equivalent tool I can use to do this? I don't yet own a VAG-COM...but if I had one would this allow me to finish this installation?

Miracle of all miracles, I did not need to VAG my car. The ground wire was not seated correctly. Once I re-checked all the wiring everything worked exactly like it was supposed to!

The dealership wanted to charge me $300 to do this install. It took me under an hour...and I'm new at this! If I didn't love the car(s) so much I'd never buy another one solely because of the dealership experience.
