Well there are a few big name ebay sellers who deal only with key fobs. Condidering their high feedback i'm sure there aren't too many problems. I've now bought two used switchblade fobs from ebay with good results.

 

could it be they were blank as some have the tools to wipe the chip?

 

Why would you have to? B5's don't have the immobilizer chip (pree 2000 iirc).

Yep we were lucky enough to not have to go through the full blown dealer immobilizer mating process.

 

lucky sods here its very expensive, I hope the information is useful anyway

 

i would like to know...how would i know what fcc # i need if i only have a regular key(its not the valet but looks like it)?i only have a single key.
