Problem need help.......

I just sarted up my A4 this morning but it sounded like it was battery was dead....tried multiple times and finally started up fine....

I had the same issue 3 weeks ago and audi inspected it and said I need a new battery which by the way I spent about $190 for it.....

Is this a battery issue or electrical problem???

How does it sound? A grinding? Nothing at all? A lil more info plz!

That must be some kind of battery!

 

I dont think he's referring to the battery making noise

Though, a sound could be associated with the battery being dead... like silence...

When I turn on the egnition, there is some kind of rapid clicking noise.........

 

I was commenting on the price of the battery, not the noise it makes, but for that price it better sing you a song and make your wife happy.

 

The battery was put in from AUDI service here in Oregon, I know that was a rip off, but it was late at night and I wanted to take my car home.....

 

Sorry to hear that. Circumstances like that can catch us all out from time to time. It sounds like the battery is not charging. Could be a bad cable, poor ground, altenator, etc. Start looking at the simple stuff first. How many miles?

 

Get the car started and check the voltage. The alternator should be putting out about 13.5+ volts. Use a digital voltmeter.

If charging looks ok then check for something that doesn't turn off, like the trunk light or interior lights or a short.
