Battery problems at 65K's??
Hi,
I have an 04 A4 with around 65K's on it. This morning it started fine, I drove my daughter to day care (1km from my house). Started the car, drove to the gas station across the street from the day care and filled up. After the fill up, my car would not start. Battery was dead... Mind you, I did not have the key in the off position. The engine was off but the daytime running lights were still on while I was filling up. I figure it took less than 3 minutes to fill my car. Could this have caused my battery to drain, or is it possible that I need to get a new battery for a car than only has 65K's on it.

It's entirely possibly that it was shipped from the factory with 36-48 month battery. I'm pretty sure that exact same thing happened to a friend of mine with a Jetta around the same amount of miles.
Yeah, anything CAN happen. It's not too common, but it could be the case. The other possibilities are that you blew a fuse that would prevent the engine from firing, or that your battery connectors at the terminals are loose and not giving good enough contact to fire the engine. Check that stuff out.
I think I'm going to get a new battery just to be on the safe side. I live in Canada, it's freakin' cold up here in the winter and I really don't want to be stranded in the freezing cold. Especially if I have my 2 year old daughter with me.
Thank's for the advice guys. Hopefully a new battery will fix things up. I'll let you know if I have any further problems.
