Battery question-fast clicking noise. Please help!
So, I have a 99.5 2.8 A4. Car has been sitting for about two weeks and for some reason the car wont start at all. No power locks, no radio not even turning over.
So I went to jump it yesterday- Everything got power. Radio, locks all that good stuff worked fine. But when I went to turn on the car it begins to turn on but then it stops and there is just a fast clicking noise. click click click click. Real fast.
Just need a new battery or something more severe? I dont wanna take it into Audi because they are extremely expensive.
I'm not very smart with cars, so any help at all would be great. Thanks alot!!!

the clicking in the starter. jsut get under there and tap it toward the tranny and then see if it works. u most likely need a new one. the starter is on the passenger side of the car.
Starter is clicking because not enough juice from the battery.
Replace and you should be OK. If the old one wont start the car even while jumping, its totally gone. try cahrging it up for a while first, it may be ok and just need a good charge.

The clicking is the starter solenoid. Dead battery.
Use a slow charger 2 amp to charge the battery. If you haven't checked the electrolyte levels in the battery, check them and make sure they are above the lead plates. If not top it up with distilled water and charge.
The question is why your battery went dead. You either have a very old battery, or there is a short or a light was left on.
