Erg,i just did this mod. I took the box out, cut the bottom of the box out, drilled 15 or so 1/2 inch holes in the fenderwell, and put mesh over the holes. I was all excited, got in my car, and no change. No throttle responce, no added noise, no DV noise, nothing. Anyone know y? is there something i missed? i have read all 292 of the poasts on this...

that is weird you must be the only person with no change in noise. lol i think i have taken my air box out more this month than i have opened my trunk. i am right there w/ ya

I cut it opoen all the way, like you showed. all i seam to notice is a little louder turbo spool and maby a little intake woosh. but i still cant figure out that wssssshhhhhhhhhhh noise from the intercooler side when in the boost...

that sounds like a vac leak or a boost leak. both bad. I had similiar problem check all hoses and connections. particularly the L hose near the intake mani.
