yeah check the L hose. I had same symptoms. I had most of my boost but not all. that hose is a culprit for having a tear in the corner that is not noticable until under boost it opens up and lets a lot of air pass through. check it out.
no it doesnt go to the intercooler. its a vac line that goes around/under the top right corner of the exhaust manifold. it has a breather valve on one end and the other end goes right into the manifold. if you look from the front of the bay it looks like the number 7. $15 w/ clamps at the stealer.

Err, do you mean the host that runs directally from the airbox to the turbo? and also, the sound comes from the tront left side of the car, from the intercooler side

if thats not torn I would say check all of your hoses leading to and from the intercooler which I'm sure you have. also look all around the intake mani theres tons of spot for a vac leak near all of those vac lines make sure they are all connected and clamped.

i found the leak, and since i dont have an extra lieing around, in wrapped it in electrical tape and zipties it for a temporary fix. and WOW. its insain....since i bought this car, it made this annoying noise. and its gone all the sudden. i hear my engine and exaust finally!

oh good to hear bro! glad I could help. for so long I was wondering why I was still holding 15 psi but my car was soo slow. And I could hear a woooooooooosh under boost from the front left side of the engine (I thought intercooler also) till finally I spent some time looking under the hood when I saw the crack in the corner of the L hose... I was like hmmmm I wonder what this does. so I asked someone on here and they told me that was the culprit. went to the stealer that day and noticed now they sell those hoses reinforced (probly for a reason). I changed it that day on a hot engine (DOH) ten minutes and a couple burns later and I had my boost back.. no woooshing and my car was fast again! its a goood feeliing.
ya, the pulsing stopped, and it pulls a lot harder through the range. lol, after i fixxed that first, i didnt have enough xip ties, and i went for as test run and it started leaking again, so frusterated, i dove right in weith a hand full of zipties and electrikcal tape...without concidering the temperature of the engine
