you would need to check if the timing positions line up,without proof of change of timing beltits near impossible to check if a new belt was put on

I may be dealing with the same crap as you are. My CEL came on awhile back, and the code was for the passenger side cam sensor. I have put a new sensor on there, and tried to clear the light/code by disconnecting the battery for about 35 minutes, but the CEL is still on. I don't have VAG although I'm hoping to borrow it from a buddy at work this week to try clearing it that way and see if it comes back. Some of this stuff is a pain in the ***. Please post up a solution if you solve the problem, and I will do the same.

I tested the wiring harness connector for cam position sensor. I got the correct voltage...about 5. For the ohms I got about 4. It should be zero. What does that mean? I also took the sensor off the car. It's an Audi part. That tells me either they didn't replace the part, they got one off another vehicle or bought one through audi...yeah right. Its not new either. It's pretty dirty. I cleaned it up and put some dielectric grease on connection. One bad thing...I lost clip to hold connector to sensor. What will happen if the wire comes off sensor while driving????
